PRESENTATION OUTLINE
WARNING:
The following presentation contains frequent use of a popular racial slur used in TKAM (hint hint)
In order to avoid lawsuits, we changed these words to popular fruits. Still, we're contractually obligated to say: VIEWR DISCRETION IS ADVISED
Bob Ewell was considered the worst person to ever live in the charming little racist community of Macomb
I MEAN, WHO COULD FORGET THE HORRIBLE ACTS COMMITTED BY EWELL?
- Public indecency
- Beating and raping daughter
- Blaming beating and rape on innocent black guy
- Blatantly racist comments and opinions
- Having a stupid name which coincidentally is good for a throw-away play on words joke
WHERE'S YOUR PROOF?
I ain't never beat or raped Mayella! That no good PINEAPPLE did it! It's obvious. You take one look at that boy and you can see the evil in his eyes. His insatiable bloodlust is only matched by his unholy ability to convince some that he's innocent! As for the public racism, I don't deny it. In fact, I'm proud of it! Here in Macomb, we celebrate the mistreatment of the inferior race. And the fact that you could even suggest that I laid a single hand on my sweet Mayella...
When Atticus questioned Mayella it was obvious you were to blame and not Mr. Robinson.
"What did your father see in the window, the crime of rape or the best defense to it? Why don't you tell us the truth, child, didn't Bob Ewell beat you up?"(18)
Mayella's scared and furious reaction said it all. You're guilty Bob Ewell. Or should I say, "Bob Cruel?"
...It's just too easy...
ATTICUS FINCH IS A NO-GOOD DIRTY ROTTEN APPLE-LOVING DISGRACE TO HIS ENTIRE COUNTRY
He's the one who brought down the good Ewell family name with his accusations of rape and such. He wants to ruin years of tradition. He brings an unwelcome change.
Atticus is a gangly two-faced raccoon. There's a reason why I attacked his children...
Oh wait! I mean...I didn't really...hit them or anything...I mean like, they was walking in the woods and I was walking in the woods and...uh...
I DIDN'T HIT NO ORANGE DEFENDIN' KIDS!
I want people to understand that my ways are unconventional but work very well. I am simply defending tradition. If that means I have to beat some kids to death...so be it. Although I never planned to do the deed. But Atticus gave me no choice.
I don't regret showing that man what he deserved.
"...Mr. Ewell approached him, cursed him, spat on him and threatened to kill him..." (23)
Atticus didn't respond so I did something I knew he'd hate...and I guess anyone should hate.
The attack was sorta planned. I figured I could just hit them in their dumb little equal-rights-wanting faces.
But there was a complication...it was going fine until he came...
It was all just peachy...
