Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1734 near Reading, Pennsylvania.

In 1755 he left home on a military expedition during the French and Indian war.

In 1796 Boone led an expedition and discovered a trail to the far west through the Cumberland gap.

Boone is famous for exploring the settling in Kentucky.

Daniel Boone's exploration was in 1769. In 1775 he settled in an area called Boonesborough in Kentucky.

Daniel Boone grew up in a Quaker home in Pennsylvania. His father was a farmer and he had 11 brothers and sisters.

Daniel returned to North Carolina and married a girl named Rebecca. They would have 10 children together.

At the age of 13 Daniel got his first rifle. He had a natural skill at shooting and soon was the main hunter of the family.

One of the ways Daniel Boone could survive was by learning how to use a rifle at such a young age.
