The dictionary meaning:
The act or process of becoming extinct; a coming to an end or dying out:
the extinction of a species.

Extinction is

Here are some extinct animals
Dodo, Golden toad, Baiji dolphin,
Hawaiian crow, Pyrenean ibex, Spix’s
Macaw, Liverpool pigeon, Black rhino, Honeycreeper, Quagga, Monk seal, Sea mink, Tasmanian tiger, Tecopa pupfish, Javan tiger, Great Auk, Dinosaurs (all of them), saber toothed tiger, Steller’s Sea Cow, Zanzibar Leopard, Dutch Alcon blue butterfly, Pinta Island turtle, Dusky Seaside Sparrow,

Some other extinct animals:
California Grizzly Bear, Newfoundland Wolf, Bali Tiger, Guam flying Fox, Jamaican Giant Galliwasp, Sri Lanka Shrub Frog, Passenger Pigeon and lots of others.

What has caused extinction???
Humans are one of the main reasons for extinction. Weather we cut down forests, over harvesting poach/hunting, and even pollution puts animals endanger of becoming extinct.

Here's a fact : 99 percent of currently threatened species are at risk from human activities, primarily those driving habitat loss, introduction of exotic species, and global warming.

Our planet is now in the midst of its sixth mass extinction of plants and animals. The sixth wave of extinctions in the past half-billion years. We’re currently experiencing the worst spate of species die-off's since the loss of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago!!!
