What is Factory Farming?

  • Factory farming is a way of farming were animals are treated like trash.
  • They are cooped up in crowded conditions.

How this Effects the Environment

  • People cut down trees to make land for the feed crops.
  • Factory farming takes up land, water and fossil fuels.
  • It takes up 1,581 pounds of water to process 1 pound of beef.

Animal Treatment 1

  • Animals are kept in crowded conditions.
  • Some animals live their lives without ever seeing the sun.

  • Cows have to stand in their own manure.
  • Also, cows have to eat corn. Cows are meant to eat wheat.

  • Some sheep have their tails cut off or a rubber band is put around the tail so it rots off.
  • Sheep are killed young because lamb meet tastes good.
