October 8
Sugar Maple treee on Sumner St. turns orange first at the top of the tree.
October 16, Sumner st. I think the leaves turn orange and drop off tree at the top first, because the tree shuts down water to the top of tree first. Leaves shut down green pigment and quit making sugar when temperatures get cool.
October 19
Leaves that turned orange first also drop from tree first. (Photo of same tree on Sumner St.)
