FAMILY FARM

FARM PURCHASED IN 1927

• By my great grandparents
• Verus and Lola Boudeman
• When they bought the place they had to live in the wagon shed
• They tore down the old house and put a new one up
• Supplies to build the house were purchased at Bloomsburg , Muncy, Hughesville

HOW THEY FARM IN 1927

• They used horses
• And they used mules
• And they used oxen
• But the perferred way was by horses

FARM ANIMALS

• They had cows for milk and meat
• Had horses for working
• Chickens for their eggs and meat
• Pigs for meat and cash sales

1943 TO CURRENT

• Bought their first tractor
• It was a Oliver 60
• And several more Olivers
• Balers, plows, rakes, mowers,

1945 PURCHASED TWO ADDITIONAL FARMS

• One of the farms was given to my great Uncle ervin and his wife
• The other farm was given to my pap and gram

1964 FARMING ACCIDENT

• My pap got his foot all most taken off in the power tack off
• He had surgery ankle bones fused
• To keep on farming they bought a new tractor that was easier for him to use
• That tractor was a 1600 Oliver

1976

• My pap got the homestead
• My pap and uncle continued to farm in partnership
• They done everything together
• Bills and profits were split 50/50
• All the farming equipment and animals were jointly owned

1988

• My pap was Semi retired
• Sold dairy cows
• Went in to beef herd of cows
• Continued grain and hay farming

1990

• My pap second farm was given to my mom and dad
• My mom and dad bilt a house
• My pap and uncle continued farming the land
• This is weir we live now

1994

• Homestead was given to my uncle and his wife
• They put a mobile home on the property
• Gram and pap continue to live in the farm house

1997

• Pap and uncle RETIRED
• Sold all the beef cows
• Had a public auction
• Sold all machinery
• And I was 2 weeks old

2001

• Homestead sold at sherif sail
• My uncle and anti ran the farm into bankruptcy
• My mom and dad bought the farm at sherif sail
• Then they bought the moble home at tax sail

2001 TO 2015

• Not much had change we have cows, rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep
• We have farm equipment
• We up dated farm equipment
• And we help make hay for are animals
