He did not go to school but Dr.Titus G.V Simons taught him
English and Latin and gave him a copy of the Journal of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Early 1823 a grizzly ripped off Smiths ear and his scalp.
While he was recovering Indians suddenly killed everyone but him.
