Aristotle
He live to be 62 years old
384-322 BC
Aristotle proved that the earth was a sphere.
He also believe that it was the center of the universe.

Aristarchus
Lived from 310-230 BC
He was the first to put froward the idea of the sun being in the center of the universe

Claudius Ptolemy
He lived 85-165 AD
He used Hipparchus' observations to develop a model that predicted the sun, planets, moons and stars

Nicolaus Copernicus
He lived from 1473-1543
He concluded that the sun was the center of the universe.

Galileo Galilei
He lived from1564-1642
He made a telescope and saw mountains, craters and valleys on the moon, he saw millions of stars making up the Milky Way, and saw things on several planets.

JOHANENES KEPLER
He lived from 1571-1630
He was Tycho Brahe's assistant and student, he used astronomical records and developed laws of planetary motion.

Isaac Newton
He lived from 1643-1727
He showed that the laws governing astronomical bodies were the same as motion of the surface of the Earth.
