ST. IGNATIUS, ST. PETER FABER, ST. FRANCIS XAVIER, ST. PETER CLAVER, ST. ALOYSIUS

SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

  • Born in 1491 in Loiola, Spain
  • Fought in battles until 1521 where he got severely hurt
  • Wanted to convert non-christian believers
  • Went back to school and made a group of friends with the same religious goals

SAINT PETER FABER

  • Met Saint Ignatius at school in Paris
  • Worked for renewal of Church by leading many in Spiritual Exercises
  • Worked hard in Germany,Portugal, and Spain
  • Died in 1546 at age of 40 in Saint Ignatius’ arms

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER

  • Sent to study at Paris, where he met Ignatius and Peter
  • Made a vow with friends to life of poverty on August 15,1534
  • Ordained on June 24, 1537
  • Helped people in India strengthen their faith

SAINT PETER CLAVER

  • Left home in 1610 to become a missionary in Cartagena
  • Ordained in 1615
  • Helped take care of slaves with medicine, food, etc.
  • Instructed and baptized about 300,000 slaves within 40 years

SAINT ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

  • Very holy from a young age
  • Helped those affected by the plague in 1591, so he caught the plague
  • Died at the age if 23, but kept praying before he died
