PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING WAS POPULAR DURING THE 70'S?

POPULAR TRENDS

  • Polyester was the fabric to choose.
  • Cowl neck sweaters.
  • Pant suits galore.
  • Culottes.
  • Skin tight jeans.

The seventies era took a monumental step in fashion. Bright colors define the early 70's, but by the late seventies, earth tones and neutrals made their appearance.
Seventies fashion was a souped up version of the sixties--just more flamboyant and fun. The age of the hippies had not yet left the scene, and was more bright and colorful than before.

As with clothing, people experimented with their hair as well. New styles were being discovered and created left and right, and all that mattered was how you felt about yourself. The seventies truly were about self expression and pleasing yourself instead of others. Hair coloring was a new and fun thing that revolutionized beauty.
