DONNA KARAN

BACKGROUND

• She is from New York
• She is till living in New York today
• When she was 3 her father died so her mother raised her and her sister she graduated from Hewlett high school in 1966 and then went to parsons school of design.
• She only had one daughter with mark Karen (witch she divorced later on and remarried Stephan Weiss but he died in 2001)
• She is still alive and is 67 years old

EDUCATION

• Her education was formal she went to high school graduated and left to parsons school of design

INTERNSHIPS OR APPRENTICESHIPS

• After leaving college, Karan worked for Anne Klein, eventually becoming head of of the Anna Klein design team.

INSPIRATION OR MENTORS

• One mentor of Donna Karan was Anne Klein, a popular women's sportswear designer
• She got a lot of her inspiration from Klein when creating clothing

• Her signature style is all about strong silhouettes and empowering the modern woman
• Very bold necklaces and shoulder-baring.
