The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring safety, efficacy, and security of humans and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, food supply, cosmetics, and radiation emitting products. Also responsibilities include advancing the public health with new medical innovations, regulating manufacturing, production, marketing, and distribution of products, including tobacco products. They also fight terrorism by ensuring food supply security and medical devices to help against health threats.
