Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy was born on 3 February 1809 – died 4 November 1847, born and widely known as Felix Mendelssohn, and was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.

Felix was born in Germany. When he first started to enjoy music, his parents were cautious and did not seek to capsize his talent.

During his childhood, he composed 5 operas and 11 symphonies. At just 9 years old, he made his public debut in Berlin.

Felix had three siblings, the Fanny, Paul , and Rebecka.

FANNY MENDELSSOHN

Fanny was a famous composer.

FELIX MENDELSSOHN

Felix was also a famous composer.

PAUL MENDELSSOHN

Paul was a chemist.

REBECKA MENDELSSOHN

Rebecka was an artist and a musician.

"My older brother and sister stole my reputation as an artist. In any other family I would have been highly regarded as a musician and perhaps been leader of a group. Next to Felix and Fanny, I could not aspire to any recognition." Rebecka said.

In 1820, he wrote a violin sonata, two piano sonatas, multiple songs, a cantata, a brief opera and a male quartet.

Felix studied and played piano. He studied under Ludwig Berger, K.F. Zelter, and Marie Bigot during a visit to Paris, France.

Mendelssohn married Cécile Charlotte Sophie Jeanrenaud (October 10, 1817 – September 25, 1853), the daughter of a French Reformed Church clergyman, on March 28, 1837. The couple had five children: Carl, Marie, Paul, Lilli and Felix.

Felix was famous for writing the music to A Midsummers Night Dream, and Elijah.

VIOLIN CONCERTO
I like the way the violin is played in this song. The way it is played and put together is wonderful. I also enjoyed how the violin's pitch went up and down, it was like a story in a song.
