FENNEC FOX

DESCRIPTION

• Height- 8in
• Length- 9-16 in
• Weight- 1.5-3.5 lbs
• Tail- 7-12 in
• Color- sandy or white
• Thick fur to help them stay cool during the day and warm at night
• Large ears to help them regulate body temperature
• Thick hair on paws to protect from hot sand

DIET

• The fennec fox is an omnivore. They eat anything from eggs, termites, lizards, birds and mice to berries, roots, fruits and seeds.
• They can go a long time without water.

LIVES

• Mainly found in the Sahara and elsewhere in North Africa, but can be found in Asia.
• They live in a desert habitat because they are given the adaptations to live there.

DAILY ACTIVITY

• Hunt at night when it is cooler
• Generally spends most the day in a burrow deep in the sand.
• Comes out to play, explore, or dig
• Nocturnal
