  • Ferdinand Magellan discovered the world was round.
  • Half way around the world, Magellan died.
  • They didn't actually sail around the whole world.

  • He died1521 the 27th of April
  • He died in the battle of Diu
  • His crew died along with him.
  • He started started with 250 men 18 survived.
  • Most died from diseases.

  • When he was just 10, he was a page for the queen.
  • Magellan studied at Queen Leonora's school of pages.
  • He studied cartographys,tronomy, and celestial navigation.

  • Magellan's fleet left Spain on August 10th 12
  • 1519.
  • There was 2 ships that made it back.
  • They came back 3 years and a month after they started
