How did the geography affect the development of the Japanese civilization?
The seas around Japan made life easier for people on boats, to travel from island to island. It also meant that being close to Asia, they had open trade with Asian countries like China and Korea. The four islands that made Japan an Archipelago made constructing cities harder due to the lack of space.

What did the social hierarchy of Feudal Japan look like(Explain the class)?
The emperor and shogun were the highest ranking government officials. The daimyo were powerful nobles who headed the army. The samurai was the warrior that served under the higher ranking officials. The peasants (in order of rank) were the farmers due to their own production of products, craftsmen worked with wood and metals to create weapons for the army, and merchants sold products they didn't make.

Who is Prince Shotoku?
(My research question)
Prince Shotoku(February 7, 572 – April 8, 622) was born of the powerful soga family. He was the second son of emperor Yomei. His real name is Umayado(Prince of the stable door), because, legend has it, that he was born while his mother was checking the stables. When he was older, he studied Buddhism and Chinese culture. He complied the first Japan later in his life.
