Mattie's home is on top of the coffeehouse. Maddie's room had two beds, one for her and one for her mother. They have a window that looks out onto the streets of Philidelphia.
The Ludington's farm is another fictional setting in Fever 1793. This is where Mattie and her grandfather are heading to before they were told to exit and walk back to Philidelphia. This was supposed to be a safe place for Mattie to stake out the Fever.
Bush Hill was a mansion that was turned into a quarantined hospital for Fever victims. Bush Hill was thought to be a horrible place filled with crazed patients and thieves. Bush Hill saved hundreds of lives that were in need of urgent care.
Maddie is the main character of Fever 1793. She is very free spirited and hates doing work. Her favorite thing is going into the streets of Philadelphia and exploring.
This is Maddie's mother. She grew up in a higher class with fancy dresses and hard working chores. She tries to fit in with the upper class, but she'll do anything to defend the ones she cares about.
Grandfather is a retired Revolutionary War veteran who was a captain under George Washington. He is very stubborn about the fever, but when Maddie has it he takes it very seriously.
Eliza was born as a slave. Her husband paid for her freedom and she went to Philadelphia to work and pay for his freedom. Her husband died and now she works for the Cooks in the Cook Coffehouse.
Self Reliance is when Maddie has to help carry her Grandfather to a place of rest and when she has to find food or suffer the consequences of not eating.
