FIDEL CASTRO AND CUBAN MISSLE CRISIS

THOMAS MACKEY

Born August 13, 1926. His dad was a wealthy Spanish sugarcane farmer and his mom was a domestic servant to his father family. He attended a few Jesuit schools, Colegio de Belén. Also graduated from the university of Havana.
He is not dead yet.l

He had 5 siblings. 2 brothers; Raul and Ramon and 3 sisters; Angelita, Emma, and Augustina. He is married to Dalia soto del Valle. He has 5 kids; Antonio, Alex, Alexis, angel, and Alejandro.

He was a Cuban revolutionary. He teamed with Ernesto "Che" Guevara. He led multiple attacks on the Batista ( Cuban gov. At the time ). He eventually over threw the Batista and marched into Havana and crowned himself prime minister. He ruled Cuba from 1959-2006.

He changed the world by making Cuba a stronger country and made their alliance with Russia. He started the first communist gov. in the Western Hemisphere. He overthrew the unfair gov. in Cuba. He also started the mass tension between the U.S. And he started the Cuban missile crisis along with Russia.

He was involved in the crisis by threatening to shoot nuclear bombs at the U.S. He teamed up with Russia's prime minister in the act against the U.S. These events were all part of the Cold War

Lots of events happened during this time. The CIA led many attacks in Cuba to stop the chance of nuclear war. The CIA led the bay of pigs invasion to attempt to do the same thing. The Cuban missile crisis had a very negative impact in the world. There is still tension between the U.S. and Cuba.
