PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Fighting in WWI

World War I was by far the largest, and most fatal war in human history to that point

Untitled Slide

Much of those fatalities were due to the use of trench warfare, and new advents in military technology

New Military Technology

Machine Guns

Many of these new technologies (specifically machine guns) led to a reliance on Trench deffence

Soldiers dug trenches to escape the rapid and constant firing

However, trenches had their own dangers

Trenches also led to a use of chemical weapons

Ultimately, the use of trenches led to a stalemate between forces in Western Europe

Propaganda

WWI was a technicle war that many did not fully understand

As a result, nations relied on Propaganda to inspire individuals to join and fight

Propaganda: information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.
