He had very large eyes and they were the color of caramel sweets.
This was imagery and it explained what shumel looked like.

It explained that his anger was growing and he was about to burst

The fence was very high, higher even than the house they were standing in, and there were huge wooden posts, like telegraph poles, dotted along it, holding it up.
It gave you a better picture of what the fence looked like.
