  • Who performed the action?
  • How many things/people performed it?
  • When did they perform it?

WHISTLING THROUGH THE TREES.

FOR EXAMPLE...

THIS IS NOT A FINITE VERB BECAUSE...

  • You don't know who or what is whistling
  • You don't know how many things/people are whistling.
  • You don't know when the thing/person whistled.
  • Remember, "whistling" is the infinitive and requires an auxilliary.
  • E.g. "Were", "are", "is", "am".
