  • Firefighters control and extinguish fires
  • They work as a team to fight fires
  • They fight fires within their districts
  • They use different firefighting techniques depending on the fire involved

EDUCATION PATH

  • Firefighters must pass civil service and health exams
  • To be a good firefighter you should take helpful courses
  • High School Diploma is the minimum requirment for the job
  • Technical colleges offer a associates degree for fire science
  • University colleges offer programs for fire protection
