The First Amendment was proposed by Thomas Jefferson and written by James Maddison
3.
This Amendment promises freedom of religion, speech, press, petition, and assembly.
4.
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
This means anyone can come here
And still be able to keep their religion.
No one will be forced to change their religion.
5.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH & PRESS
The freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves.
This happens without interference or constraint by the government.
The Freedom of Press isnt much different.
Allows people to express themselves through publication.
6.
FREEDOM TO ASSEMBLY & PETITION
The right to assemble allows people to gather.
For peaceful and lawful purposes.
The right to petition the government for a redress of grievance grantees
people the right to ask the government to provide relief for a wrong through the courts.
7.
WHEN WAS IT PROPOSED?
The first amendment was proposed on Dec. 15, 1791

It solved the problem it was created to solve.
