In February 1917 Russia lost faith in leader Nicholas II
He was removed and replaced by a provisional government
February 1917 the revolution started
Russian economy remained defective

The Russian people overthrew the monarchy
Replaced with temporary government with free elections
Russias change to democratic form meant that Wilson could
claim the Allies were fighting a war of democracy against autocracy

of the country, forming the Russian Provisional Government

As he grew weaker Valdemar Lenin became most powerful figure in Russia

The Bolshevik party was led by Vladimir Lenin overthrew the
Provisional Government
The Bolshevik appointed themselves as leaders of various governments,
Ministries and seized control of the countryside

He was born April 22 1870
Lenin suffered a stroke in May 1922
Then died a year later from another stroke
