How did they set a solid foundation?

George Washington

  • 1st president of the United States of America
  • Father of the United States
  • Set a good example for other presidents to follow
  • Told the United states of america to stay out of debt and foreign affairs

John Adams

  • Made peace with France
  • Second President of the United States of America

Thomas Jefferson

  • Wrote the Declaration of Independence
  • Sent Lewis and Clark on thei adventure
  • Bought the Louisiana territory form Frnace
  • Third President of the United States of America

James Madison

  • Believed in a strong central government
  • Fourth president of the United States of America

James Monroe

  • Purchased Florida from Spain
  • Published the Monroe Doctrine
  • Fifth president of the United States of America

The Constitutional Convention was the reason these presidents were elected because it gave them rights to run for president. Even though George Washington wasn't elected he still had the same rights the other presidents had.

We learn about the first five presidents of the United States because they set a solid foundation and example for the nation to follow. They played an important part in the nations history. We can connect to this today because the first five presidents had to over come multiple problems and the presidents today have to over come problems too.
