  • Shark, Fish and Butterflyfish live in salty seas or salty oceans and Bass, Trout and other fish live in fresh water like rivers

  • They use their gills to take oxygen from the water

WHEN THEY'RE BORN

  • Many fish lay soft eggs. From the eggs hatch tiny fish called larvae. Then, they grow into fish called fry.

WHAT THEY EAT

  • Most fish eat other fish, but some eat plants, seeds and even mud.
  • Many fish, such as Piranhas, Sharks and groupers, have sharp teeth to catch and chew prey.
  • Herring, sardines and other ocean fish eat tiny plants and animals called plankton floating in the water. Freshwater fish often eat plants, insects and other fish.

  • They swim with their fins and their tail gives them speed to swim faster.
