Sometimes known as the republic of Iceland is a Nordic island country marking the juncture between the North Atlantic
and the Arctic Ocean,on the mid Atlantic ridge.

POPULATION AND SIZE

The population of Iceland is 325,671 people and has an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), which makes it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.

Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson is president of Iceland.

  • It is called "The land of Ice and fire"because it has volcanos and is extremely cold.
