This is the start of our cruise. We will be leaving January 1st promptly at 12:00 PM noon. Our voyage will last 18 years, traveling at a speed of 36,000 miles per hour. We will cruise around Earth's orbit for 1 day gaining speed to move on to Neptune. The planet we live on is roughly 93 million miles away form the sun. We also consider this as 1 Astronomical unit. Earth's surface is made up of what we call rocks, soil, and dirt, it is really made up of oxygen, silicon, aluminum, iron, calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium. Earth's atmosphere at the moment is the only atmosphere that humans can breath, made up of about 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. Earth is also currently the only planet that we know to have H2O on it. One day on Earth lasts 24 hours and one year is 365 days.

Neptune

  • 2.795 billion miles away from sun
  • 2.7 bilion miles away from Earth
  • It will take 8.5 years to reach Neptune from Earth traveling at 36000 MPH
  • Its atmosphere is made up of 80% hydrogen, 19% helium and a small amount of water and methane which gives the planet its blue hue
  • Named after Roman god of sea

6. One year on Neptune is 164 years on Earth

7. One day on Neptune lasts 16 hours

8. Neptune has 4 distinct rings around it formed from rock, ice and dust

9. Neptune has 13 moons. Its largest is Triton which is a little smaller than Earth's moon and has active volcanoes

10. The average temperature is about -346 degree fahrenheit

11. Rotates counter-clockwise

Uranus

  • Uranus is roughly 1 billion miles away from Neptune so t will take us 3.2 years to reach it from Neptune
  • 1.787 billion miles away from the sun
  • Its atmosphere is mostly helium and hydrogen but unike Saturn and Jupiter these gases only dominate the outer edges of the planet
  • Named after Greek god of the sky
Bullets continued...
5. One year on Uranus is 84 years on Earth
6. One day on Uranus is 17 hours and 14 minutes
7. Has 9 bright rings and several fainter rings. The outer most ring is made up of ice boulders several feet across, teh other rings are made up of ce chuks darkened by rocks. It very hard to see them because the reflect about as much ligth as charcoal does.
8. Uranus has 27 moons accounted for in 2015
9. Astronomers can't say if there even is a surface to Uranus or not. Everything they try to land on Uranus just sinks into a liquid icy center
10. Unlike the other Jovian planets, Uranus rotates clockwise

Saturn

  • Saturn is 900 million miles away from Uranus meaning it will take us almost 3 years to get there
  • 890.7 million miles away from the sun
  • Saturn's atmosphere is 75% Hydrogen and 25% helium
  • Considered the windest planet
  • Saturn was the Roman god of time as well as Jupiter's father
Bullets continued...

6. One year on Saturn is 29 years

7. One day on Saturn is 10 hours and 39 minutes

8. The rings of Saturn are the most extensive of our solar system almost entirely made up of water ice and traces of rocky materials

9. Saturn has 62 moons as of now. Its biggest moon Titan is bigger than Mercury

10. Saturn can't be said to have a solid surface because if you were to walk on Saturn you would fall into the planet being crushed by the high pressures

11. Rotates counter-clockwise

jupiter

  • Jupiter is 402 million miles away from Saturn, meaning it will take us about 1.3 years to get there
  • 483.8 miles from the sun
  • Its atmosphere is made up of 90% hydrogen and 10% helium
  • In Roman mythology Jupiter was the king of gods and the god of the sky and thunder
Bullets continued...

5. One year on Jupiter is 12 years

6. One day on Saturn is 9 hours and 56 minutes

7. Jupiter has very faint rings unlike Saturn. They are dark and made up of dust and rock

8. Jupiter has 67 known moons

9. Jupiter has no real surface so if you tried to walk on it you would fall to the center and be crushed

10. Rotates counter-clockwise

Jupiter is 390.7 million miles from Earth so it will take us 1.2 years to get return home from there. This trip will last 18 years. School is offered from Pre K- 12th grade and we will also offer a college program where young adults to obtain there PHD in Astrology and other
space science related degrees.
