FORENSIC DEFENITION

  • application of science to criminal and laws, mostly focusing on the criminal side during investigation

ORIGINATION

  • The word forensic came from the Greek root forum which means (in open court and public)

HSI DUAN YU

  • What he discovered is that scientists can use insects to help them solve a case
  • He was alive all through (1186-1249)
  • He was 63 when he died

MATHIEU ORFILA

  • He had created the base of toxicology
  • He even found out how to detect arsenic by using his samples
  • He was alive through 1787–1853
  • He died when he was 66

John Evangelist Purkinje

  • 1st to write a detailed thesis of how to solve crimes with the help of fingerprints
  • Life span: 1787-1869
  • He was 82 when he died

JOSEPH BELL

  • He was working in a clinic and he could diagnose a patient by first sight, he later joined forensic science
  • He was alive for 1837-1911
  • He was 74 when he died
  • Ps: he is the one who inspired the movie of Sherlock Holmes

Bernard Spilsbury

  • He was Britian's 1st forensic scientist, he served them for 50 years and recorded all the cases he did
  • Lifespan: 1877-1947
  • He died when he was 70
