Where and how is forestry used in Minnesota?

Forestry is found in NorthEastern, Minnesota.
In Minnesota, there are tons of products provided from forests such as timber, medicine, fuelwood, and paper. People back than depended on forests for all of their needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Later on they became food growers they started growing gardens near there forests, but they still depended on their forests for all of their needs.

What are some law and regulations regarding land and water in forestry?

Some regulations in forestry is they make sure they don't use heavy equipment so it won't ruin soil structure. They also take care of harvesting so their isn't any soil disturbance or bank erosion. Some laws in forestry are illegal logging, illegal logging is when someone is harvesting or selling timber that isn't theirs, or they don't have a license for the land they took it from. We don't want illegal logging because it can cause Deforestation. Deforestation is when people are cutting down tons of trees and they will keep doing it in tell the forest is almost gone or is gone.

What are the impacts on the enviroment?

There are bad and good impacts on the environment with forestry. Some of the bad impacts is massive floods, that have caused tons of deaths especially in the Philippines, and Thailand. Also forest fires go out of control all over the world because of how dry it gets and that isn't good for the forests. Then some of the good impacts are the loggers need to keep the logs and debris out of all the water sources to keep them clean.

How has any change to the environment due to forestry affected Minnesotans?

Deforestation is a big part in forestry and it affects us Minnesotans a lot. All around the world when there is illegal deforestation it makes it harder for Minnesota's farmers to make money. Also deforestation can also cause many animals to die and that causes a week environment. Deforestation also affects us Minnesotans a lot, especially it can greatly change the environment and the food web, from all the species dying everyday.

What is the most recent news about forestry?

North of Motley, Minnesota their were 300 acres burned from a grass fire and it spread. It burned 300 acres of grassland and swamp. During the fire, a helicopter came and three fire crews from around the area extinguishing the fire. The fire was reported around 2 p.m. and was done around 5 p.m. This fire affected the people near the town and the persons land won't be back for a long time it will affect them very much.
