There are 7 things forgiveness is not

• It is a command
• It is an act of the will
• That's why we can do it

• See sin for what it is

• If you keep remembering it, you haven't fully forgiven it

• There are always reasons for doing wrong, but no excuses

• Genuine forgiveness doesn't wait for the other person to change

• Letting them "off your hook" doesn't release them from God's

Not Blind Trust

• We are required to forgive no matter what
• Trust has to be earned

Well, if it's not any of those things,
what is it?

In forgiving we give
for God and to God

We do it for God, because He wants us to

We give it to God & trust Him with it

Giving to God

• Giving the wrong to God
• Giving the hurt to God
• Giving the person to God
• & trusting God with it all

• Trusting God with why He allowed it
• Trusting God with how He will redeem it

• Trusting God with why He allowed it

This clears our heart and frees our spirit

Life becomes a river of peace once again
