WHAT IS COAL

  • Coal is a fossil fuel that is a combustible black or
  • brown rock which can be ignited or burned to
  • produce energy in the form of heat and light.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR

  • Steel Production
  • Electricity Generation
  • Cement Manufacturing

ON HOW ITS MADE

Untitled Slide

  • In the geologic past, the earth had dense forests.
  • Due to flooding, these forests were buried under soil
  • More and more soil deposited over them, they were compressed
  • The temperature rose as they sank deeper and deeper, Mud or acidic water protected the plants from biodegradation and oxidation, this trapped carbon in immense heat bogs that eventually covered and deeply buried by sediments.
  • Under high pressure and high temperature, dead vegetation slowly converted to coal.

Untitled Slide

  • Applying this explosive pyroclastic volcanism model to the formation of coal
  • deposits world-wide, it is entirely feasible that all of today’s coal seams were formed by
  • the volcanism, flooding, erosion, deposition, tectonism and hydrothermal activity during
  • the global year-long Noah’s Flood catastrophe and its aftermath.
