AUTOCRACY:

MONARCHY , TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP

MONARCHY

  • the monarch and royal family of a country.
  • a form of government with a monarch at the head.
  • a state or nation in which the supreme power
  • is actually or nominally lodged in a monarch

AUTOCRACY

  • a system of government by one person with absolute power.
  • a country, state, or society governed by one person with power.
  • domineering rule or control.

TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP

  • : centralized control by an autocratic authority
  • totalitarianism, form of government that permits no individual freedom
  • absolute control by the state or a governing branch of a centralized institution.
  • exercising control over the freedom, will, or thought of others

OLIGARCHY

ARISTOCRACY, MILITARY JANTE, COMMUNISM

OLIGARCHY

  • a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution.
  • "to rule or to command"
  • a form of power structure in which power rests with a small number of people
  • a few people that hold power

ARISTOCRACY

  • class in certain societies, especially those holding titles or offices.
  • a form of government in which power is held by the nobility.
  • is a form of government in which power is in the hands of a small group

MILITARY JUNTA

  • is a government led by a committee of military leaders.
  • Spanish word junta, meaning committee or meeting;
  • specifically a board of directors.

COMMUNISM

  • a political theory derived from Karl Marx,

DIRECT DEMOCRACY, REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY

DEMOCRACY

  • a form of government in which the supreme power is vested
  • a state of society characterized by formal equality of right
  • control of an organization or group by the majority of its people

DIRECT DEMOCRACY

  • form of government in which all laws are created by a general vote of society
  • In a true direct democracy, every single law, bill or issue of justice is voted on by all people
  • the people govern themselves by voting on issues individually as citizens.

REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY

  • a government in which people elect delegates to make laws
  • public votes for representatives, who then make laws on its behalf.
  • is a variety of democracy founded on the principle of elected officials representing a group
