FOSSIL FUEL

CONTENTS

  • Types of fossil fuels.
  • Quantity.
  • Pros and cons.
  • How it effects the environment.
  • Other alternatives.
  • Overall conclusion.

TYPES OF FOSSIL FUELS

  • Coal, coal is usually mined in a variety of different countries such as the USA, China and Russia.
  • Oil, oil is usually found in reservoirs under the Earth’s surface.
  • Gas, gas is usually found in reservoirs under the Earth’s surface.
  • Peat, peat is found in bogs in Ireland.
  • Wood. Wood is found in many areas predominantly is woodland areas and forests.

In 2017 there is about 850 billion tonnes of coal.
Every year it is decreased by about 1.4 million tonnes of coal per coal plant.

PROS AND CONS

  • Fossil fuels are usually easier and cheaper to use.
  • They are also worth a lot more and people profit from them.
  • Fossil fuels are bad for the environment.
  • Makes global warming worse.
