PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Frances was a large player in the Industrial Revolution. He stole plans for new technology from a British textile mill and used them to create successful textile mills.
He hired young girls from surrounding towns to work in his textile factories. They became known as the "Lowell Girls."
The factory system was a way of organizing the labor of unskilled workers using heavy machinery to create a product. All processes needed to create a product took place under one roof. This increased efficiency and caused manufactured products to decrease in price.
