FRANCINE’S GREATEST WORK

Francine’s greatest accomplishment was her 1991 novel, Redeeming Love. The story is inspired by the Book of Hosea from the Bible, and its central theme is the love of God towards all sinners. Angel, a beautiful young lady experiences tramas which later affects her as an individual. She is sold into prostitution in order for her to find somewhere to sleep. Hatred and emptiness builds within her to the point she expect nothing from men but betrayal. Later, she meets a man named Michael Hosea who seeks and loves the Lord. He obeys God’s commandment to marry Angel and love her unconditionally. After time, this inexperienced love brings her overwhelming feelings. She runs away but the Lord never lets her go. To millions who’ve read this novel has said it is a life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, and all-consuming Love. With all the positive feedback, it is said that Redeeming Love is in works of being a movie which will launch in 2021 with no particular release date yet.

“...FOR SOME OF US, ONE MILE CAN BE MORE TO WALK THAN THIRTY.”

Quotes:

“...FOR SOME OF US, ONE MILE CAN BE MORE TO WALK THAN THIRTY.” -Francine Rivers (Redeeming love)

The way I interpret this quote is how all of our life journeys are different. Through any situation that approaches wether negative or positive we all react to things in a timely matter that isn’t always the same. I believe this quote speaks on the novel not only for Angel and how her fear in a loving man was so surreal, but also indicates towards us. Our journeys and Destinies in life all have a plan and we must trust the Lord in the process even if it isn’t our expected timing.

SIGNIFICANCE

Francine Rivers holds importance in Literature because she’s brought not only passion but her faith openly through her works of Literature. She constantly glorifies the Lord and brings Romance Literature to a whole new religious perspective. Her openness to religion has inspired many readers to view the same type of Romance but through the eyes of a woman who loves the Lord.

REACTION

As I’ve done research on Francine Rivers I’ve enjoyed learning about her journey through her writings career. It is inspiring to see that an author with high respect has the courage to share Christianity freely and praise God through the gift of writing. As I’ve got more insight on her successful novel Redeeming Love I’m personally very excited to continue reading and am excited for the movie that launches in 2021.

ESSENTIAL QUESTION

HOW CAN RELIGION SHAPE ONE'S PERSPECTIVE OF PAST ABANDONMENT?
ESS Q: How can religion shape one's perspective of past abandonment?

As a Christian our viewpoint differs to a none religious person. Our experiences we face in life and how we go about it is mainly because of our trust in God. As Angel in Redeeming Love see’s the difference of men who mistreated her vs a Man who loved the Lord and truly valued her; helped her see how God is loving in every circumstance.
