  • I was born in approximately 1510 in Salmanaca, Spain
  • I died in Mexico City in 1554
  • I was Governor of New Glacia Province in 1538 until I was demoted
  • I set out with roughly 300 Spanish men and 1,000 Tlaxcalan Indians

I heard of a city of gold called Cibola from a Spanish missionary priest. He told me it was in the American Southwest and populated by Zuni Indians.

After me and my crew found no sufficient gold in Cibola and drove all the Zuni away we separated and together we explored: Gallup,
New Mexico,The Painted Desert, The Grand Canyon, The Pecos River, Texas, Oklahoma, And Central Kansas.

Accomplishments

I am known for being governor of New Glacia Province although I was demoted in 1542. This is because when I got back from my expedition because I hadn't accomplished my task and I was charged with mistreatment of Indians. I am also known for exploring the American Southwest
