Françoise Hardy was born on January 17, 1944 in Paris, France. She and her younger sister were raised by their mother, as their father was not a part of their lives. Françoise attended a convent school for girls. She was shy throughout most of her younger years.

She started to write music and was inspired by Georges Guétary, Paul Anka, Charles Trenet, and Cora Vaucaire. She received a guitar as a birthday present one year from her father, and this really helped to inspire her to try to start a career in music. She studied at the singing school Petit Conservatoire de Mireille. Françoise auditioned for three record companies before getting a contract with Vogue on November 14, 1961.

One of her first singles "Tous les garçons at les filles" rocketed her into stardom selling over two million companies.

The song is about how everyone around her is in love, and she is alone. She is wondering when she will have someone to love.

I selected the song because it sounds really pretty, and is so far the story of my life.

Everyone was writing songs about innocent love
