PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SHOULD ADULTS TRUST TEENS?

Created by Gracie Hancock
Theology, Set 8

ADULTS SHOULD TRUST TEENS

  • Just because one teen does something bad, doesn't mean all teen are bad
  • Each teen should be held responsible for their individual actions, not the actions of a group of teens
  • Most teens have the capacity to think for themselves and make good decisions

ADULT SHOULD TRUST TEENS

  • Adults should trust teens WITH CAUTION
  • With today's electronic age, it is much easier for people to get away with immoral actions
  • Adults should monitor teens internet activity if they suspect them to be participating in immoral activities

CONCLUSION
How a teenager acts reflects how they were raised by there parents. To a degree, a teenager is their own person, but if a teen is irresponsible, the parents are to blame to some extent.

Freedom and Responsibility (and how they relate)

FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • 1731 Freedom is the power, rooted in reason and will, to act or not to act, to do this or that, and so to perform deliberate actions on one's own responsibility. By free will one shapes one's own life. Human freedom is a force for growth and maturity in truth and goodness; it attains its perfection when directed toward God, our beatitude.

FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • 1732 As long as freedom has not bound itself definitively to its ultimate good which is God, there is the possibility of choosing between good and evil, and thus of growing in perfection or of failing and sinning. This freedom characterizes properly human acts. It is the basis of praise or blame, merit or reproach.

FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • 1733 The more one does what is good, the freer one becomes. There is no true freedom except in the service of what is good and just. The choice to disobey and do evil is an abuse of freedom and leads to "the slavery of sin."28

SUMMARY
Freedom is the power to act or not to act, which makes us responsible for our actions. If one does not act for the Grace of God, then there is a chance for them to choose good or evil. There is no truer freedom than in the service of God.
