WINTER FESTIVALS

QUEBEC WINTER CARNIVAL

  • This event takes place in Quebec City.
  • Activities include a masquerade ball, outdoor sporting events like skiing, and parades.
  • Their is also an ice palace complete with a dungeon that you may be locked in.
  • It usually happens February 1- February 17.

Montréal en lumiére

  • This is another winter festival that takes place in the city of Montreal.
  • It is held every year from February 20- March 2.
  • It has shows, food, exhibits, and concerts.
  • It is know for it's art, cuisine, and lights.

Gatineau hot air ballon festival

  • This festival happens in the city of Gatineau and is from August 29- September 1.
  • The festival is all about hot air balloons and will be celebrating it's 27th anniversary this year.
  • There is food, contests, rides, and art.
  • But it is of course most known for it's hot air balloons.

GEOGRAPHIC FEATURES

APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS

  • This mountain range starts in the United States and stretches all the way to Québec.
  • Includes beautiful mountain ranges, valleys, and wonderful sights.
  • You can see great wildlife, such as moose.
  • The highest peek, Mount Mitchell, is 2038 m (6684 f)

Lake TÉmiscouata

  • Located in southeastern Québec
  • 45 km long and 5km wide
  • Beautiful lake to visit
  • Means "deep water" in Maleesit lanugage
