All about diamonds

On the list of the major resources, diamonds are number1. Now you must be wondering why diamonds are on the top? Why the people had fought?
If you wanna know why???....
Then read on!!!

HOW DIAMONDS ARE FORMED?
Well that answer is simple,
When Diamonds reach the surface through a specific kind of volcanic eruption, called a Kimberlite eruption. The last such eruption is said to have occurred over 100 million years ago and this is an image of kimberlite rock

EXTRACTED DIAMONDS
Diamonds are extracted from the earth using five basic mining techniques.

the five mining techniques.

  • Small-Scale Miner
  • Hard Rock Mining
  • Marine Mining
  • Open Pit Mining
  • Placer Mining

WHICH MINING IS POPULAR

  • Pit-mining
  • Open-pit mining (if necessary)
  • Marine mining

MINING
Mining diamonds will take
a lot of time because diamonds are found 100 miles underground where tremendous heat and pressure crystallize carbon into rough diamonds.

PRODUCTIONS OF DIAMONDS

The first step in processing diamonds is comminution i.e. breaking the ore by crushing and milling.

DMS
Once the ore has been crushed it is mixed with the finely ground ferrosilicon of a particular density. This process is called DMS that is dense medium separation.

DISTURBUTION OF DIAMONDS
Now the diamonds are crushed and is passed over a grease belt that the diamonds then stick to. We can see them under x-rays.

Rough diamonds are measured and sorted before they are cut. They are sorted in thousands of categories according to their weight, color and clarity.

Rough diamonds are sorted into three categories.

  • Gem quality
  • Industrial quality
  • Boart

Tough automation is used to sort diamonds. The sorted diamonds are then separated for cutting. They are cut and sawed till the stone smoothed.

Examiners have to constantly check the facets of the diamonds. Because the manner in which the diamonds are cut and polished depends on their color. Each stone is checked under the microscope for clarity.

CONSUMPTION OF DIAMONDS
After the diamonds are manufactured they are ready to be sold to jewellery makers and diamond wholesalers.

Diamonds are one of the hardest substance in the world .and because of this they can be easily used for special purposes like grinding, polishing and cutting many other materials. Diamond based computers are capable of storing millions of times more information than the traditional silicon-based systems.

DISPOSAL OF DIAMONDS.
I know what your thinking that how come diamonds go to waste? Well in some computers people have put diamonds. Because it can store millions of data. And when the computer is not working it will go in the trash.
So do diamonds.
