OBTAINING FOOD

  • They are decomposers they break down
  • Their food and absorb it. They release
  • Enzymes into the atmosphere to start the
  • Decay.

STRUCTURE

  • Its made up of fine, branching,
  • Usually colorless threads called
  • Hyphae. Each fungus will have a vast
  • Number of these.
  • All of these make up a tangled web called mycelium.

REPRODUCTION

  • Fungi can reproduce asexually by
  • Fragmentation, budding, or producing spores.
  • And sexually with homothallic or heterothallic mycelia.

EXAMPLES

  • Black scab
  • Bakers yeast
  • Black bread mold
  • Black truffle
  • Corn smut
