Being able to influence students in their education is big accomplishment as being a Counselor and is awesome being able to know that you helped them through it.

Principal/School Counselor Challenges:

  • The challenges of being a principal are not just the conflicts among the students, parents, and teachers, but having to balance the negative with the positive input. Although a principal may receive positive feedback, there will be negative and adjusting to need to frequently resolve conflicts professionally can be frustrating. School Counselor: Erratic schedule and can be emotionally draining. Being a School Counselor can be very frustrated with all of the students that you have to see everyday. On top of that you have to go to meetings/conferences, talk to parents, and scheldule appoinments with more students.
