  • The bridge resembles an arch construction.
  • The Kintaiko bridge of Iwakuni, Japan is another example of arch structure.

CHALLENGES

  • The bridge is such a huge construction that getting it to where it is today was a problem.
  • Luckily, with the help of the Asian Hercules II, the placement was easy.

TIME SPAN

  • Gifford and Partners with Wilkinson Eyre began the construction in 1998.
  • The bridge officially opened May 2002

  • It is said that over 4 million have crossed the bridge in the last 10 years.
