Gel electrophoresis is used for forensic analysis, parentity testing, diagnosng genetic diseases, and animal breeding.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SEPERATE DNA MOLECULES?

• DNA samples
• Agarose
• Buffer
• Apparatus machine
• Power supply
• Micropipet
• Stain to see DNA

STEPS TO CARRY OUT THE EXPERIMENT

• Dilute buffer
• Mix agarose with buffer to make gel
• Heat in microwave
• Cool
• Pour solution into the trays
• In 20 minutes remove the caps and comb
• Load DNA samples into wells
• Place cover
• Connect power source and perform electrophoresis
• Visualize results.
