GENE THERAPY IS AN
EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUE THAT USES GENES TO TREAT OR PREVENT DISEASE.
GENE THERAPY IS BEING USED
to create recombinant Cancer vaccines along with other diseases as well.

IN 1985 THEY USED A
RETROVIRUS TO CARRY THE CORRECT HUMAN ADA GENE TO CELLS.
THE 2 ORIGINAL ADA PATIENTS
ARE CURRENTLY HAPPY AND LIVING NORMAL LIVES.

THESE CELLS ARE ENGINEERED TO BE
RECOGNIZABLE TO THE IMMUNE SYSTEM BY THE ADDITON OF 1+ GENES.
THE ALTERED CELLS ARE GROWN
into the Vitro, & killed then the cellular contents are blended into a vaccine.
ANOTHER STRATEGY IS TO
DIRECTLY ALTER THE PATIENTS IMMUNE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO REFINE IT TO THE CANCER CELL.

Development of a fetus in unexpected ways or long term side effects.
PEOPLE WHO WOULD BE AFFECTED BY GERMLINE THERAPY
Aren't born yet,they can't choose to get treatment or not.
BECAUSE OF THESE CONCERNS
The US Gov. doesn't allow federal funds to be used for research on patients.
