Their first car was the Buick Model F
The car retailed atas little as $1,250
They continued production until 1910 and made 1200 units

General Motors practiced horizontal integration
They acquired Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Oakland and Elmore in their first two years

VERTICAL INTEGRATION
A stock market scare in1907 put small buisnesses in distress
GM was able to buy small car builders, as well as car part and accesory manufacturers

MARKETING
GM's new brand in 1915, Chevrolet, was made to rival Ford
It was marketed to the "everyman" consumer with low prices
They wouldn't have had so much success today if it wasn't for Chevy

ASSEMBLY LINE
GM copied Ford in the use of the assembly line
They were able to produce cars quickly and efficiently
