INSURANCE COMPANIES

INSURANCE SIDE

  • Some people with genetic defects require medicine and operations
  • Operations like gene and chemo therapy cost a lot of money
  • The companies would have to pay for all of these surgeries

PATIENT SIDE

  • Like we said before the surgeries cost a lot
  • If they don't have insurance the have to pay for it all by themselves
  • "Obama Care" was created to help give these people insurance

ATHLETE SIDE

GOVERNMENT SIDE

  • People with genetic disorders are denied benefits
  • There is a military policy to not allow them to get benefits
  • If benefits were given to everyone it would amount to $1.7 million more per year

SOLDIER SIDE

  • About 250 service members are discharged with no benifits
  • The benefits include insurance to help with their disabilities
  • This is similar to discrimination in insurance companies
