My first initial reaction to the fact that genius hour is a chance for students to get the chance to research what interests them best and make a presentation about what they want, I was extremely excited and my head got rushed down with ideas but at the same time, I truly had no idea what to do.
The first thing that crossed my mind I might have wanted to research was sports because, well it's a hobby. Basketball specifically. It's not really a high dream of mine but I've always thought of it as a possibility so why not.
Video games are another great hobby of mine and I've always been curious how they are made and the animation process but I'm not very interested in that, I just like to play so that couldn't be it either.
But anyways my initial thought is that this genius hour is an amazing idea however it should be done more often for sure and I hope there gunna have this at my high school but also I hope that this is something that continues for a while. It can be hard to think of one thing to research but at least it provides us students with a choice of what we want to do for once and we have fun in this process.
Obviously I had fun making this and I had no idea what to do and I had no idea it was going to turn out like this. But I suppose it was worth it. Normally I hate homework and don't do it, but I did it and found it fun...
The point is that I appreciate the opportunity to research what I want and the fact that the people who founded genius hour are trying to make things more interesting for students and giving more choices so school is less boring and may actually be useful.
