STAMP ACT

  • It was signed on March 18, 1765.
  • It was the first tax directly on American colonists by the British government.
  • After a year with the act the declaratory act was issued because of what the colonists were doing like the Boston tea party.
  • It made the colonists so mad that 10 years later the colonists rebelled against the British.

LIMITS OF GOVERNMENT/MAGNA CARTA

  • The Magna Carta was signed by king John on 15 June 1215.
  • The Magna Carta was to make peace between the unpopular King and a group of rebel barons. it promised the protection of church rights protection for the barons from imprisonment.
  • The Magna Carta limited the government/king to not have the power he used to own. The king and also to make stupid laws.

QUARTERING ACT

  • The act was signed in 1765 when the King was keeping an eye on the colonists.
  • It was made so that you would have to take the redcoats/British troops if they needed any help or food.
  • They had to treat the troops with such care they were supposed to treat them better than themselves. ex. They would get your bed.
